- That the January 6, 2021 assault on the U.S. Capital was an unsuccessful coup attempt led by the sitting President Donald J. Trump to overturn the will of the people.
- That a majority of Republicans in the US House of Representatives affirmed their support for the attempted coup when they opposed the certification of state electors for the duly elected President of the United States, Joseph R. Biden, Jr.
- That this threat to our democracy has not been stopped and is in fact ongoing.
- That Donald J. Trump’s hold over Republicans in both the House and the Senate represents a grave threat to our democracy and that therefore every effort must be made to prevent Republicans from attaining a majority in the House or the Senate in 2022 and every effort must be made to prevent Donald J. Trump from returning to the White House in 2024.
That is our cause.
In this time of peril to our republic, we call on all citizens to join together and defend the constitution of the United States of America against all enemies foreign and domestic and pledge to stand united, whatever our differences, to preserve our Union, our Republic and our Democracy.
